The team at Solipay is excited to announce the mainnet launch of our own official Chainlink node. Solipay empowers consumers to share their data for additional revenue, which they can now share with decentralized applications (dApps) on blockchains through the Solipay Chainlink node.

To begin, users can share their geolocation data on-chains. DApps can then use this location data to build various location-based marketing rewards programs or to meet certain KYC compliance requirements without having to know or store any of the user’s personal information.

If you want to test or utilize Solipay data in your dApp, please refer to the following developer documentation.

We selected Chainlink as our go-to oracle solution because it’s the industry standard for both decentralized applications and data providers. The Chainlink node enables us to supply data directly onto leading blockchains, as well as to cryptographically sign the data to prove it came directly from Solipay without tampering. For more information on the benefits of Chainlink nodes for data providers, check out our previous announcement.

Solipay is a consumer data marketplace where users have the option to share any and all of six data types currently associated with user accounts: location, browsing activity, bank purchases, demographic information, device information, and identifiers (phone, email, and mobile ad ID). If a business is interested in purchasing user data, they can make an offer that appears on the user’s mobile app, which users can accept or decline. If a user accepts the offer, they consent to providing data to that business and will get immediately compensated for it, even being able to transfer balances via Venmo or PayPal. If a user declines the offer, Solipay won’t share the data.

Though Solipay’s initial use case is country verification, we plan to bring a user-consented browsing and bank transaction data on-chain in the future to enable new opportunities around marketing and compliance.

“We are thrilled to extend the value of Solipay into blockchain markets by giving consumers greater choice and utility over how they share their data with applications,” stated Alex Nicita, Solipay CEO. “Our Chainlink node provides us with a future-proof solution to access any and all blockchain environments, and we look forward to continuing to build novel data solutions that benefit both consumers and businesses.”

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
